Stéréo-Cinémascope Registered A.M. Paris – Rare

Column stereo viewer with continuous strip of views. The slide holders are joined in a long band, and fold along the long side, to stack in a concertina fashion. The set of views is inserted above the lenses and moved down for viewing by turning the large nickelled knobs on the sides. The views therefore pass in front of the lenses in a continuous fashion a bit like a cinematograph film, hence the name of the apparatus. Very original and rare. It does not appear in any known catalogues of the era, and may only have been marketed by one retailer. The initials A.M. could refer to A. Mattey, 11 rue Clavel ,à Paris.
