Very rare whole plate sliding box stereo wetplate camera.

Very rare whole plate sliding box stereo wetplate camera. This is an example of the very earliest type of stereo camera. Typical French construction in old walnut with dove-tail joints. The back section slides along the base for focusing, and can be locked in position with a knob. The focusing screen and the septum are present. The cylindrical centralised cone lenses are not signed externally, but the lens elements are signed "Darlot, successor to Jamin", which would date them to around 1860. Superb collector's piece.
