An exceptional George Adams Nairne-type electrostatic friction generator, with all its accessories, including a magnificent head with human hair, all in the original shipping box. Signed George Adams on the electrometre. Edward Nairne (Sandwich, England, 1726 - London, 1806) was an optician and manufacturer of scientific instruments. He patented a electrostatic machine with a glass cylinder, friction terminal and accumuator comb. This machine could generate both negative and positive electical current.
