“Papillon” camera
"Papillon" camera by Germaine de Laperrière. 100% aluminium construction, and therefore very light - only 850 grammes. According to an article in "la Nature" on 8 April 1899 , a wooden camera of the same size weighed 2 kg. (see attached document). Further more, the costrution of this camera allows it to withstand changes in temperature, according to advertising at the time.
