Charles & Arthur CHEVALIER – Stereo sliding box camera
The "Photographe à Verres Combinés" invented by Charles Chevalier and sold by his son Arthur. Impressive and very rare collodion era stereo sliding box wet plate camera of ingenious design. The front drawer protects the large pair of lenses which would have been very expensive at the time. This section slides to adjust the focus. It has 3 flaps. The front one is the shutter, while the 2 side ones allow access to the knobs on the lenses. Fine traditional wood-workmanship in old walnut with dovetail joints.
