KINÉCLAIR Charles Dupuis

Le KINÉCLAIR est un projecteur de film 35 mm fabriqué par la Société des Etablissements ÉCLAIR en 1913; il a été breveté par Charles Dupuis. Cet appareil est rare, un exemplaire figure à la Cinémathèque Française qui en donne une description technique suivante : "entraînement horizontal du film 35 mm par croix de Malte ; trois débiteurs dentés ; obturateur trois pales ; prisme à réflexion totale renvoyant sur l'objectif les images qui défilent horizontalement devant la lanterne verticale ; lanterne et ampoule électrique incorporées ; cheminée ; bras articulés débiteur et récepteur ; base en bois formant coffret et contenant le mécanisme d'entraînement, d'obturation et l'optique, avec un tiroir de rangement ; volant ; fenêtre horizontale réglable ; objectif à crémaillère ; fil et interrupteur électriques ; prise électrique." Les dimensions de l'appareil sont les suivantes : L=40 cm ; l=26,5 cm ; H=31 cm. The KINÉCLAIR is a 35mm film projector, made by the Société des Établissements Eclair in 1913. It was patented by Charles DUPUIS. This is a rare projector, there is an example in the Cinémathèque Française museum, which has this technical description : " horizontal traction of 35mm film via a Maltese Cross; three cogs; three-bladed shutter; totally reflecting prism (within the body of the projector) that sends the image through the lens for projection in a vertical plane; integral lantern with electric bulb; chimney; articulated arms for take-up and supply spools;wooden base forming a box that conains the traction gear, shutter mechanism and optics and a storage compartment; fly-wheel; adjustable horizontal window; lens with rack-and-pinion focusing; electrical wire, switch and socket."
